Tour of the Bauges

Tour of the Bauges

The Bauges massif is bounded by the towns of Chambery, Albertville and Annecy and the Lac du Bouget and Lac d'Annecy. It is an area often overlooked and yet it is a wonderful area all year. It is a national park with rolling hills and rocky escarpments. Woodland, rolling meadows and higher plateau give a variety of landscapes.

The area is rich in flora and fauna. The local produce is accorded Appelation d'origine Controle (AOC). The famous Tome des Bauges produced both on the farm and in the fromagerie's (or fruitieres) is not to be missed. The villages offer the opportunity to try many culinary delights and the chance to see the work of the local craftsmen.
